Abstract

Dental transposition is an eruption anomaly characterized by the exchange of position between two adjacent teeth. The transposition between the mandibular canine and the mandibular lateral incisor is rare and presents an orthodontic challenge due to the biomechanical complexity involved. This article reviews the literature on the treatment of dental transposition and presents a clinical case report addressing the interception and orthodontic correction of this malocclusion. Proper planning and the selection of the correct mechanics are essential to minimizing treatment time and associated biological risks.
