Dental anxiety can compromise the success of implant surgeries, especially in patients with panic disorder. The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of intravenous sedation on anxious patients during dental implant surgery. A case of a 47-year-old female patient with a history of panic episodes and anxiety crises was reported. She underwent an implant surgery following prior maxillary reconstruction. During the procedure, intravenous sedation was administered using propofol, midazolam, fentanyl, and clonidine, leading to a reduction in anxiety and stabilization of vital signs. The procedure was successful, without complications, and the patient reported minimal discomfort in the postoperative period. It is concluded that intravenous sedation had a positive impact, providing greater safety and comfort for both the patient and the surgeon, in addition to improving the quality of the procedure and facilitating postoperative recovery.
